WHERE IS THE LOEWS CORONADO?

The Loews Coronado is on the island of Coronado, about a 20 minute drive from Downtown San Diego and the San Diego airport. A long freeway bridge connects Coronado to San Diego. The hotel is on an easily-accessible but relatively-secluded part of the island.

WHAT IS AT THE LOEWS CORONADO?

The hotel has an array of recreational amenities, including rentals for bikes, paddleboards, boats, and other outdoor activities. Within the hotel are multiple restaurants, a spa, and an expansive pool area with bar and food that adults and kids will love. There's also outdoor games, ping pong tables, and pickleball courts, multiple lovely outdoor seating areas, and a walking path with easy access to a nearby pristine beach.

HOW SHOULD I BOOK MY HOTEL?

Because the room block is now full at the Loews, you can use this link to still get 20% off your room: https://www.loewshotels.com/catering You can also book your hotel with another platform of your choice (Kayak, Priceline, etc) if that is preferable to you. If you have a rewards-based credit card (i.e. AMEX Platinum, Chase Sapphire Reserve, etc), you may be able to use points there to book a room at the Loews. If you do not stay at the hotel, there are a few additional hotels on Coronado Island and then more within San Diego. Please keep in mind though commuting distances to the Loews and your transportation options for wherever you do end up booking.

WHAT IS THE PARKING SITUATION AT THE LOEWS CORONADO?

Parking is charged on a per-day basis at the hotel. If you book your room as part of the room block, you will be charged $20 per day for parking. If you are staying at the hotel but not as part of the room block, or if you are just driving to the hotel for the wedding or to catch the shuttle to the baseball game, you will be charged $50 per day for parking. We strongly advise you park at the hotel as there is very limited, if any, nearby parking that is within walking distance of the hotel.

WHAT IS ON CORONADO?

Coronado is a quaint, lovely little island-style community. It has one large main street full of fun restaurants, bars and shops. There's also a grocery store, a movie theater, a community performing arts theatre, and the historic Hotel Del Coronado. There's also world class beaches surrounding the island. You could spend your entire trip in Coronado and have a blast, but you're also close enough to San Diego proper too that you could conveniently explore the bigger city.

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?

We are encouraging guest to follow a "Beach Formal" dress code. Our ceremony will take place outside on a picturesque terrace by the water, so please dress for the occasion in a way that makes you feel fabulous! For men, that could be a standard blazer with khakis/suit pants and an optional tie. For women, that could be your favorite cocktail dress or pantsuit. Just whatever you will feel fabulous and comfortable in during a picturesque afternoon ceremony outside near the water in San Diego in late spring/early summer.

DO I NEED A CAR?

If you are flying into the wedding, we do advise that you rent a car so that you have the most flexibility in navigating the rest of Coronado and San Diego. The hotel offers a special parking rate for our guests, so please let us know if you will be driving. If you do not rent a car, you can still get to the hotel via Uber or Lyft, and can use rideshare to get to other parts of Coronado or San Diego. Please keep in mind that Uber/Lyft options may be limited due to the hotel's secluded location and the 3-day holiday weekend. There is also a shuttle that leaves from Loews to Downtown Coronado every 30 minutes. The Loews though is not a suitable walking distance to Downtown Coronado or San Diego. The only thing within walking distance of the Loews is a lovely, nearby beach.

ARE KIDS WELCOME?

Kids are more than welcome! There is a fun pool area at the hotel, plus other water and land activities, and plenty to see and do in Coronado and in San Diego. We will also have a kids menu as well. If you have any specific questions regarding kids, please reach out to us.

CAN I GET THERE A FEW DAYS EARLY, OR STAY A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER?

Sure! You're more than welcome to stay as long as you'd like. The main wedding events will be on Friday evening for the baseball game and Saturday/afternoon and night for the wedding and reception. Beyond that, you're free to explore Coronado and San Diego at your leisure.

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE FOR THE BASEBALL GAME?

Casual! We'll be outside so just dress so you're comfortable and ready to have fun.

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE IN CORONADO?

The weather will likely be very pleasant. It is usually sunny or slightly cloudy during that time of year, but temperatures are calm and enjoyable.

WHEN SHOULD I BE AT THE CEREMONY ON SATURDAY?

Please be ready by 4:30 p.m. There will then be a toast at 4:45 p.m., followed by the ceremony itself at 5:00 p.m.

WILL TRANSPORTATION BE PROVIDED?

We are only providing transportation from the hotel to the baseball game on Friday night. You will be responsible for arranging your transportation to and from the hotel.
